With their energy efficiency and long life, they are suited for replacing traditional fluorescent and incandescent lights. Sanken LEDs are also available as backlights for liquid crystal displays in flat panel devices. Sanken multi-LED modules come in unique, low thermal resistance packages for saving energy and space. Sanken LEDs come in distinctive colors, such as blue LED on silicon (the Silicon Blue) and various pastel colored LEDs. Some Sanken LEDs are powered directly by high voltage sources, eliminating the need for external driver circuits.
