Allegro offers linear Hall-effect position sensor ICs that can be used to sense position in DSC applications. These linear ICs are available with micro-power sleep mode for low power consumption required in portable applications. Ultra-small QFN packaging provides a PCB footprint as low as 2 x 3mm. Allegro closed loop sensors are also available for use in cellular phone and small portable camera module actuators. The closed loop Hall sensor, with integrated driver, provides high repeatability in position with low hysteresis. Proprietary self-calibration algorithms compensate for variations in module construction and improve customer end of line yields and actuator reliability in the application.
Allegro also has an extensive lineup of ICs for Xenon photoflash capacitor charging with integrated IGBT driver, with a variety of options for input voltage, charging current, and other control features. Most these devices use primary-side voltage sensing, eliminating the need for a secondary-side resistive voltage divider and its associated leakage and extra components. All devices use flyback technology and have an adjustable voltage.
In addition, Allegro offers a series of low voltage motor drivers for DSC applications. The motor drivers are designed to control DC, stepper and voice coil motors. The product feature small PCB footprints packages as well as wafer scale packages.
