Worcester, MA - December 11, 2003 Allegro MicroSystems, Inc. announces the release of four new low-noise block voltage regulators (LNBRs) for satellite set-top box systems. Designed to future-proof set-top designs, these highly integrated devices feature legacy system compatibility and offer the flexibility of two-way DiSEqCTM communications.
Intended for analog and digital satellite receivers, the highly efficient LNBR family consists of monolithic linear and switching voltage regulators, specifically designed to provide both power and interface signals to the LNB downconverter via the coaxial cable.
According Mark Gaboriault, Allegro's Power Management Strategic Marketing Manager, "This family of devices delivers exactly what our customers have been yearning for a flexible yet highly integrated part (including output FETs), best-in-class power efficiency, and a competitive solution cost in an industry-standard package."
Specific features and benefits of the Allegro LNBR family include:
This LNBR family is manufactured using Allegro's ABCD3 (Allegro Bipolar CMOS DMOS 3rd generation) process, and is supplied in either a standard 24-lead or 16-lead SOIC package.
