Worcester, MA, June 9, 2005 Allegro MicroSystems, Inc. introduces the A121x family, which is intended not only to replace our legacy A317x and A318x family of Hall-effect latches with improved performance, but also to offer our customers a wider variety of packaging options. Additionally, for the first time with our continuous-time Hall-effect latch family, Allegro is offering Pb-free plating to comply with various international standards.
The A1210, A1211, A1212, A1213 and A1214 Hall-effect latches are next-generation replacements for the popular Allegro A317x and A318x lines of latching switches. The A121x family, produced with BiCMOS technology, consists of devices that feature fast power-on time and low-noise operation. Device programming is performed after packaging to ensure increased switchpoint accuracy by eliminating offsets that can be induced by package stress. Unique Hall element geometries and low-offset amplifiers help to minimize noise and to reduce the residual offset voltage normally caused by device overmolding, temperature excursions and thermal stress.
Targeted to the consumer, computer/office, industrial and automotive markets, the A121x family is provided in a three-pin single in-line package (UA) and a three-pin surface-mount package (LH).
