Allegro MicroSystems Response to Coronavirus

March 19, 2020

A Letter From Allegro's President and CEO

As the COVID-19 outbreak continues to spread around the world, I wanted to provide an update on Allegro MicroSystems response to this global pandemic, as declared by the World Health Organization (WHO) and CDC, among other national global agencies. First and foremost, we have implemented precautionary measures to ensure the well-being and safety of our employees, their families, and our greater communities. Our leadership team is closely monitoring the status of this pandemic and its potential impact on our business. Regardless, the safety of our employees, suppliers, contractors, and communities remains our highest priority.

Our Pandemic Crisis Management Team (PCMT) is in place to coordinate employee health and safety. Over the last two months, in conjunction with the guidance from the WHO and CDC, we have increased the cleaning frequency at all our locations. In early February, we instituted company-wide international and domestic travel limitations and a self-quarantine requirement for all staff who had traveled to high-risk locations. As a preventive measure, we have implemented a mandatory telecommuting policy for all office locations through the month of March. We have utmost confidence that our systems and processes will allow our workforce to be productive while maintaining safety.

We appreciate that the continuity of supply remains of paramount importance to customers whose factories are still operational.  In this time of ever-evolving global restrictions, I do need to inform you that as of March 18, 2020, the Asian semiconductor supply chain has been severely disrupted.  Allegro and its contractors are complying with government mandated “shelter-in-place” restrictions placed in the Philippines and Malaysia, two countries which have a significant bearing on the semiconductor supply chain. Our supply chain has been severely compromised, and we anticipate fulfillment disruptions while we navigate through this situation.

Our Pandemic Supply Recovery Team (PSRT) is in place to coordinate supply chain recovery and customer communications.  Throughout this crisis and the many planning meetings and critical discussions that have taken place, I have seen our team’s dedication to serving our customers, and we appreciate your understanding and patience as we manage through these unprecedented and rapidly changing conditions that are affecting everyone.  As COVID-19 continues to spread around the globe, we cannot predict how the circumstances may change or how any of that may affect Allegro’s operations.

Allegro will continue to reassess the best course of action as events unfold.  As we move into this new phase of responding to the impact of COVID-19, we will continue to prioritize three things:

       1. The safety and health of our employees, communities, customers, and suppliers.

       2. Servicing the needs of our customers, as much as is reasonably possible, despite current global challenges; and

       3. Working with local governments to comply with the fluid and rapidly changing requirements and regulations.

Our PCMT and PSRT are working tirelessly to ensure our business - and yours - remain strong, and we will continue to update you on our actions as the situation requires.

We wish that you and your organizations be safe through this difficult period.

Sincerely,

Ravi Vig
