Allegro’s wheel speed sensor ICs provide zero-speed, highly accurate, real time data to the ABS controller for speed and control calculations. These calculations are used to determine the reaction of a particular wheel to the driver’s situation. The sensor’s accuracy and dependability is critical to this system.
A speed sensor IC uses a zero-speed, digital peak detecting algorithm capable of tracking high speed signal changes without the loss of signal integrity. Signal optimization is accomplished using dynamic offset and gain control and can provide highly accurate duty cycle and pitch on a wide variety of target types.
Speed and direction sensor ICs include a vibration immune, direction algorithm which provides bi-directional information to the system for help in determining when unsafe conditions are occurring (i.e., skidding).
