A key focus area for Allegro is motor drivers and feedback sensors used for position, velocity and current. The motor control applications cover a range from low power lens positioners to fans and blowers, and high power servo systems. Allegro offers a variety of solutions for these applications including motor driver ICs, voltage regulators and Hall-based speed, position and current sensor ICs. Motor driver solutions include stepper motor drivers, DC motor drivers, brushless DC motor drivers with either integrated DMOS power outputs or with MOSFET gate drivers for higher power requirements. Single ICs that combine multiple configurable motor drivers with switching and linear regulators are also available.
DC/DC buck regulators have input voltage ratings up to 50 V to handle common conversion requirements, and can be used to provide an input voltage bias rail(s) to the motor driver ICs and/or microcontrollers.
Allegro offers a wide array of Hall-based position and current sensor ICs that provide the necessary feedback signals to optimize system performance and enable a rapid detection of fault conditions that could prevent expensive damage from occurring. The current sensor ICs include patented, packaging technology, which provides very high levels of voltage isolation to enhance system safety.
