Typical Applications

The AMT49106 and AMT49107 are automotive-grade N-channel power MOSFET drivers capable of controlling MOSFETs connected in a 3-phase bridge arrangement, and are ideal for automotive applications with high-power inductive loads used on safety critical applications.

Both products offer the unique ability to provide a high gate drive for a 4.5 V battery without an external inductor system footprint. Gate drive strength is programmable to reduce EMC issues, and the lack of a duty cycle restriction enables smaller motor designs with equivalent torque. The AMT49107 provides dual enable and logic outputs for motor phase voltage, helping provide added safety and redundancy. It includes three high-performance current sense amplifiers for current measurement, adding redundancy and reducing torque ripple.

With state-of-the-art integrated diagnostics, the gate driver can indicate multiple internal faults, system faults, and power bridge faults. It can be configured to protect the power MOSFETs under most short-circuit conditions. For safety-critical systems, the integrated diagnostic operation can be verified under control of the serial interface, which also provides the ability to alter programmable settings and read back detailed diagnostic information.

Designed to ISO 26262, the AMT49106 and AMT49107 are excellent ASIL-D certified solutions for advanced driver safety system (ADAS) applications.
