Low Noise, Standalone, Coreless and Contactless Current Sensor with Overcurrent and Overtemperature Detection

ACS37610, ACS37611

8-Pin-TSSOP-LU-Package, used in the ACS37612 coreless differential current sensor IC

The Allegro ACS37610/1 current sensors are a game changer for high current sensing applications, eliminating the need for bulky external cores or shields. They are designed to accurately measure both AC and DC current flowing through busbars or PCBs, making them ideal for a wide range of applications. The ACS37611 provides an improved sensitivity error over temperature. The SIP package simplifies through-busbar assembly and offers great immunity to displacement errors.

Top Features

Typical Applications

Packaging

  • Differential Hall-based sensing provides immunity to stray magnetic fields while eliminating large and expensive concentrating cores and shields.
  • Quick overcurrent and overtemperature fault output ideal for safety critical applications (TSSOP package versions only)
  • Wide current sensing range (100 A to >10,000 A) with single busbar or PCB design
  • High customer programmability and lower noise provide high accuracy (<1% typ) (210kHz for the SIP package version)
  • High isolation and reliability is achieved with up to 250 kHz sensor bandwidth
  • SIP package option simplifies assembly and reduces displacement errors

Automotive

  • High Voltage Traction Motor Inverter
  • 48 V / 12 V Auxiliary Inverter (Starter Generator
  • Heterogeneous Redundant Battery Monitoring
  • Overcurrent Detection
  • DC/DC Converter
  • Smart Fuse
  • Power Distribution Unit (PDU)

Industrial

The ACS37610 and ACS37611 are is offered in a low-profile 8-pin surface mount TSSOP package (thin-shrink small outline package, suffix LU) that is ideal for space-constrained applications, while allowing simple surface mount assembly.

The ACS37610 is also offered in a 4 pin SIP package (Single in-line package, suffix OK). This small package facilitates the assembly of the system when choosing to insert the sensor through the busbar. This topology offers great immunity to displacement errors. The OK package is available with straight leads (TN), as well as a lead-formed option (TX) enabling through-hole or  surface mount assembly.
